Training should not be boring, therefore the HR team organized a movie night on 24 Feb 2015, to learn about the fashion industry in general and about the front-end of the business in particular. Around 45 member of staff signed up for the movie night and we played a documentary film about Paul Smith, the British designer. Post training reflection highlights different learning lessons after watching the movie. Many participants underline that a willingness to learn, working hard, following the dream and building good relationships with people are key ingredients of success. It is interesting to see a comment from a junior staff that the movie has helped her realize that what she does, being a merchandiser is only a small part of the fashion industry. One common observation that participants highlight revolves around the idea that something simple can turn into something great, if one knows exactly the key selling point of one’s product and that inspirations can be found from anything and anywhere.
